Members of the Manly Camera Club enjoy a range of benefits:
The club links people who share a passion for photography.
The club’s meetings and social outings are conducted in a friendly atmosphere where like-minded members support each other and exchange ideas and information.
You can find more information about meetings and social outings on our Club Activities page.
Among the club’s key objectives is the ongoing education of its members. An annual program sets out a range of competitions and presentation designed to extend and challenge members’ talents and abilities.
During the year the club conducts workshops for members so they can have the opportunity to advance their knowledge of the many aspects of photography.
Regular excursions also provide excellent opportunities for informal learning. Being active in a camera club is a certainly a great way of continually expanding your understanding of the art of photography and how to present your images.
The club encourages all members to enter the regular competitions throughout the year. Members may enter images in digital colour, digital mono, print colour and mono print sections. Through these competitions, a member’s work is evaluated alongside that of other members. Our highly credential and independent external judges assess each competition entry and provide constructive and supportive comments. The standard of members’ photographic output is therefore constantly increasing as they learn more, correct faults and strive harder.
Because the Manly Camera Club is affiliated with the Federation of Camera Clubs NSW, an extensive range of additional opportunities to participate in photographic competitions are open to our members. These include interstate and international competitions. The club also participates in a range of local community activities to strengthen community bonds.
